Grrrr!
Two of my favorite LF photography message boards have degenerated into a squabble over which one is best and the alt-process list has been a debate about Sally Mann and the use of Flash. I've learned lots from all three, so I hope they get back on track with sharing information about photography soon. Until then, it's been tempting to prowl eBay.

Though an online presentation can barely touch the impact of the real images, you can get a small taste of what left me overwhelmed last Wednesday, especially the work of Nathan Congdon.
Would it be insane to try platinum printing with negatives as small as 6x9 cm?

A pretty quiet weekend, Saturday filled for the most part with housecleaning and dejunking, but also some time found for alt-process play. Still working with some of the negs from Seneca, this time as cyanotypes. They're a good deal grainier than the Van Dyke versions and have more contrast, with sharp divisons between tones rather than the softer look of Van Dyke.
The middle image is one from the pinClack, while the top and bottom are 4x5, pinhole and view camera respectively. I'm starting to like the way the Clack's 6x9 cm negs look. It's a nice format and while tiny compared to 4x5, still large enough for respectable contact printing. While in a Clack mood, I also burnt a cyanotype pinhole
figure in nature shot done near a small waterfall at Seneca.
