Turns out that the slope of the prime location for a new well is too great to safely bring in the drilling equipment. Fortunately, the owner of the property is a contractor and has the connections to get hold of a bulldozer to make a nice flat spot. Still up in the air just when the new hole can be drilled and if all the water quality tests can be done before the end of the month. Also questionable just what the backyard of our new place will look like after all the grading and drilling.
On the existing home front, 95 per cent of the painting is done. The place will look great after a few minor touchups and a thorough scrub down. The painter we found works quickly but there are more than a few spots on the floor to be scrubbed away. It's been pure living hell with the furniture arranged in a maze to make room to paint and I'll be happy to end my evenings of priming so the rooms will be ready for a final coat the next morning.
