Had a great time at the Maryland Photographer and Model Get2Gether. My only regrets are that I couldn't have been there for both days and that I had to leave so early on Sunday. I shot a bit with the old wood box pinhole camera, some silly popupdouble exposure tricks, a few with popupTom Mangano, but I think my favorites of the day were some shots of a young wood nymph from Pennsylvania:

I'm already trying to line up some models for a wood nymph/water sprite series and have more ideas churning in my head than I'll ever be able to capture on film. It'll be a fun time trying, though.

Been a bizzy weekend. Saturday was filled with the last meeting of my alt-process class and the presentation of our final projects. It was a nice change from the normal mount/mat style of presentation, with half of us opting for both alternative forms as well as alternative processes. The book forms are nice, with both ease of transport and display combined with a sculptural element as well. I was also impressed by the "Birds", a series of photogrpahs shot over several months to capture the story of a bird family nesting on a window sill.

Saturday mornings are going to seem kind of empty without the class and the wonderful people in it. I'm sure there will be plenty to fill the empty hours but I will miss the wonderful exchanges of ideas and the spark of enthusiasm that flowed through the entire class.

Today was a chance to meet and work with some new models at the Maryland Photographers and Models Get2Gether, put together by Marion. This was the second one of these events she's organized and I can't wait until the next. Had to cut out way too early because of family commitments on Mother's Day but not before shooting a few pinholes and finding some new talent to work with in upcoming projects. I'm too beat now to trust myself to develop the film properly but should have at least a few new Van Dykes up later in the week.
