08/21/2005 Entry: "half way there"

What a flurry of faxes, phone calls, racing around, turning around, scheduling and re-scheduling.

But it's done, or at least started to be done.

Closed on the new house Friday afternoon, despite the title company's computers crashing that morning. It was a bit sudden and unexpected, due to the delays over the adequacy of the well water and difficulty in getting the drilling company to commit to a date to drill a new well.

Sellers are renting back for a week or so to give them time to pack up and move out, so we hope to make our own move over the Labor Day weekend.

This place goes on the market soon, just a few minor touchups and a good cleaning left. I've even felt confident enough to begin packing a lot of my tools. That's a good sign the worst of the work is over.
