[Previous entry: "Emotion in Photographs"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "IR and Pinhole with Marion"] 08/20/2004 Entry: "rain again" Had hopes of working with Marion on Saturday morning in a continuation of the wood nymph project. Looking as if we may be rained out, though. I knew the storms were headed this way but up until now the forecast said the morning might be good. It's a bit of a pisser being rained out, especially when it means foregoing a session with Marion. She's the first *real* model I ever worked with and it's always been fun to shoot with her. She's enthusiastic about both IR and pinhole, which is a huge plus mark in my book. I also had hopes of trying out a new lens. Well, a lens that's new to me, despite its age. I'd been scouting eBay looking for a Takumar 135/2.5 K-Mount and trying to get an idea of the going prices. I lucked out when I found one in an online store for half the going rate on eBay. It's long enough to get a nice head and shoulder portrait without being right in the subject's face and fast enough for a good background blur and hand held shooting in decent light. Hoping we can reschedule for Sunday, or maybe next weekend. Until then, looks like either silly photograms or studio play is all that's going to happen.
