01/15/2004 Entry: "IR light painting"

Found a few moments in a too busy week to get the IR light painting prints scanned and uploaded. I'm happy with the few prints I was able to salvage form the underexposed roll but looking forward to another try at the technique. The negs I pulled these samples from were laughably thin, not leaving me much room to play at all in the printing. They might prove interesting as lith prints, but that's a whole other project... maybe when the series is finished. Yep, there'll be more. You can bet on that.

Yep, those work very, very well in alt...

Thanks, John!

Beautiful stuff, even though I'm sure the negatives were difficult to work with. The first one, in particular, has a particular quality of light and form that the process really seems to have enhanced (at least as far as one can tell on the web). I came here from Joerg's site, and it looks like I'm going to have to be a regular visitor...love your galleries. I'm building a small set of alternative process links on my site, and this great site will definitely be on there.

The upright figure is particularly good -- this sort of look seems MADE for alt-process
