[Previous entry: "LF outing"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "nap definitely needed"] 11/05/2003 Entry: "double play Saturday" I can already tell Saturday's going to be a day in which a nap will be required. That's the only way I can think of to keep my energy up between the planned predawn meet up with the Baltimore Large Format Group and spending half the night outside with my cameras to catch the total lunar eclipse. I've already figured on using the view camera to do the multiple exposure trick, with a long row of tiny moons fading away across the sky. I may also use the 4x5 pinhole to get a b/w star trail type shot and may even pick up a roll of color film for the pinClack. As much as I love b/w, if part of the whole show is watching the moon turn a deep orange I may as well try to capture some of it. Still mulling over where the best location to shoot from might be. The Inner Harbor's tempting, with the possibilities of catching the eclipse over the skyline of South Baltimore, but then there are worries about interference from the bright lights of the city. A short drive out to Catonsville would let me set up on the hills of the community college, good vantage of the sky from there without too much light pollution but a pretty dull scene on the horizon.
