[Previous entry: "on top of the world... or at least the roof"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "finding golden grain"] 11/03/2003 Entry: "and the day drags on" Still exhausted from Saturday, though the muscle pain which woke me at 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning has faded to a minor annoyance. I'm trying to keep my eyes open enough to look forward to a short session in the darkroom this afternoon. There are some exposure tests to run with using lith film in a 8x10 box and also need to at least get some contact prints made of the two rolls I shot Sunday at a christening. That was an unusual experience, my first time in a Greek Orthodox church. The architecture was beautiful, domed ceiling painted in gold, larger than life-size ikons screening the altar area. The ceremony was quite a bit longer and involved than the ones I've attended before. I wish I'd known more about the significance of the several parts of the ritual. I also wish I'd played it smart and bracketed my exposures instead of relying on readings from one meter. The negs look awfully underexposed, very flat with nonexistent shadow detail. There are a few I may be able to salvage but that's going to be a battle I don't think I have the energy for tonight.
