[Previous entry: "snow Monday"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "snow trains"] 02/16/2003 Entry: "not a blizzard" They say it's not a blizzard... not enough wind or something like that. All I know is that snow's been falling at a heavy pace since early this morning and the trash can is wearing a I've been out shoveling a path for the dawg and trying to keep up with the front walk but haven't even started on the white mound that my car is buried under. I doubt I'll be going anywhere soon, certainly not planning on having to be at work tomorrow, so that can wait. The snow's been a good motivator to keep me home and working on projects for school. It's been slow and there's much more still in my head than on disk but it's all progress. My hopes and plan for a web gallery of my photos may actually come together over the next month or so. A database driven dynamic site, with access to the images listed under both process and subject, and initially displayed as groups of thumbnails... at least that's the way I'm leaning. How it will look is still subject to input from the folks at school, but I'm pushing for a simple clean site, with the bells and whistles in the behind the scenes stuff. Right now my head's full of database table design and trying to run some SQL queries in my head to check that I have everything I'll need for now and the near future. The web project would be enough for this course if the head instructor had a clue what is involved but since he isn't too web savvy, I also have to design and produce an identity package and brochure. More design and writing, and since I want to have these two items tie into the web site, it's like putting together a puzzle where you only get a few pieces at a time to play with. If cabin fever sets in, I'll try to walk up and visit the train museum later. It's closed due to snow but I can peek through the fence and get some pictures more engaging than a trashcan.
