01/18/2003 Entry: "sorta saturday"

I don't know which was more reluctant to get started this morning, my car or myself. I was still in a daze after three cups of coffee and the car was chugging on three cylinders for a minute or two in the early morning chill. The car eventually warmed up but I stayed wrapped in a blanket of exhaustion for most of the day at work. I'm glad I straggled in, as it gave me a chance to clear away the mess the boss had dropped on my desk late Friday afternoon. Monday will be a little less of a nightmare.

I may have to pass on one of the late night activities here. I doubt I have the energy to wander over to the Westminster Burial Grounds in the middle of the night. You see, tonight's the night for the annual return of the Poe Toaster, the mysterious nocturnal visitor who leaves a bottle of brandy and three roses on Poe's grave.

I keep telling myself I'll get over there some year.
Just too damn tired tonight.
