[Previous entry: "more transfer and lift madness"] [Main Index] [Next entry: "as time goes by"] 03/02/2002 Entry: "silk purse from a sow's ear" Difficult assignment this week in my digital photo class, a collage promoting your neighborhood, showing off all the great things about it and why it is such a fine place to live. Easy enough for those living on tree lined suburban streets, or in sections of town that aren't surrounded by depressed and abandoned industrial buildings. It's a little tougher here in Pigtown, but that's okay... because Pigtown's a pretty tough neighborhood. So, with a cold rain in the forecast, I grabbed the digital camera and set out on a walk through the neighborhood. I knew I'd find something if I kept my eyes open, a good habit to have in this section of town. There didn't seem to be much sense in going for "pretty" but this area's got grit and texture and a feel all its own. I'm no wizard at the collage game, maybe the second or third one of these I've tried, but I think I came close to making a
