02/28/2002 Entry: "more transfer and lift madness"

Tried my hand at some more silliness with a few Polaroid transfers and emulsion lifts last night. I "recycled" the print side of a transfer posted recently at pixelpile into another attempt at an popupemulsion lift. I kind of like the sepia tone resulting from an early "peel" of the print from the goop side of the Polaroid, plus the two-for-one factor of getting both a transfer and a lift from one Polaroid.

I went scrounging in my slide stash and came up with some red autumn leaves from a camping trip last September. The goop didn't stick quite as well as I'd have liked but the popuptransfer's still a keeper. Depending on energies left after class tonight, I may try to make a lift of the print side. I was a little late in the peel of this one, so a fair amount of dyes transfered to the print. Should make a nice looking lift.

This new (new to me at least) technique has re-ignited my interest in shooting color slides. Never one to leave well enough alone, I may have to steal some inspiration from bobbi and shoot some print film for cross processing into slides.

Geez, one more item on the to-do-list.
Not complaining at all.
Smiling. :-)
