10/17/2001 Entry: "polaroids and pinholes"
I'm sure Dan thought he was doing me a favor when he passed along a link to polaroids and pinholes. There's a suspicious part of my nature that also thinks he knew just what trouble he'd be causing by sharing all those lovely images.
polaroids and pinholes is a collection of Pringlegrams. At least that's the best word I could think of to describe these wonderful images made with a Pringle's can camera. The photos have that soft and dreamlike look that makes pinhole one of my favorites. Simple beauty made with a simple camera.
What really got me excited was so simple that I've been kicking myself for not thinking of it earlier. I love pinhole photography and have messed about with both film and paper negatives. I've also been aching to try some polaroid transfers. Combine the two? Never even crossed my mind. So, yeah, I was stoked to see these photos.

my day is BRIGHTENED...polaroids and pinholes was stunning. i don't understand the mechanics (at least not this time of morning), but the results are just too beautiful. and what amazing synchronicity!! she is one of my FAVORITE collage artists!! i will go look again and again...thank you for that link! sigh...
