Marking the 30th anniversary of the death of Jim Morrison, Doors fans flocked to Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris.

If asked to name five influential rock bands, the Doors would be near the top of my list. Wild, crazy, and yet hauntingly poetic, something in their music calls to that yearning for freedom and life in all its insane glory that is the heart of rock and roll. It was a Golden Age in music and I'm glad I was there.

The future's uncertain
And the end is always near.
