Will wonders never cease...

The folks from Systems Support are here with a brand spanking new Pentium III, 666 MHz, 15GB speed machine to replace the poor overworked PC that our main scanner is hooked to.

Of course, the time period that they have allotted to complete the install and get all our software up and running is a bit optomistic but any delays are a small price to pay to get a new machine. :)

A brief respite from scanning hell. :)

Caught up with things for the moment but that will change all too soon. My shoulders are enjoying the break. I should probably do some research on ergonomics and see what can be done with the layout of my workstation. So far there's been about a 20% increase in work from the fall semster last year and the semester hasn't even officially started yet. Providing suppport for 60 courses versus 51 last year and I am sure that more will be added in the next few weeks.

New pictures of Druid Ridge Cemetery are up.

They are all infrared black and white. I'll be out there again someday soon with some color film, so stop back and keep an eye out.

I noticed that with the infrared shots, I seem to go for more landscape than closeups of the individual markers. So, if you like some trees and sky with your gravestones, this is the series for you. Enjoy. :)

Impatiently awaiting the few hours until I can pick up the contact sheet of the latest IR shots from Druid Ridge cemetery. I have my fingers crossed on this one, I got brave, or maybe stupid, and only bracketed a few of these shots, relying on the exposures used in my first outing with the film. I guess I am just being cheap, but it pissed me off to have to bracket and only get a dozen usable pics from a 36 exposure roll. Here's hoping that I got lucky with them. If not, well, I guess it means another trip out there, only with some color film next time. Gotta love that wider exposure latitude.

If anything at all usable comes out of it, there'll be some new pics up this evening. :)

Switching over to the database driven scheme has made life so much easier. Adding pictures and new cemeteries is so much nicer than previously. I hope that you find the site easier and more fun to use as well. Let me know how you think the site could be made more enjoyable for you.

Found a few hours to partially explore Druid Ridge cemetery yesterday. Located just north of the city, it is a large cemetery with some wonderful statues and memorials. I had only one roll of infrared film with me, so a return trip with a few rolls of either color or black and white is definitely a must in the future. I hope that I can get some preliminary shots up sometime this coming week, though they will only be scans from the contact sheet, rather than from larger prints. Big thanks to Elysibeth for recommending this cemetery.
